The Teenage Education and Empowerment Network (Teenage Network) in commemoration of the International Day of the GirlChild, 2020 has called on the Federal Government of Nigeria to put in measures to ensure all girls in Nigeria return to school after the pandemic. The call which was made by the Executive Director, Olanike Timipa-Uge at the Flag off ceremony of the School in My Community project at Nyanya community, Abuja explained that adolescent girls are the worst hit by the pandemic and as a nation with over 13 million out-of-school children prior the pandemic, we can not afford to have more girls drop out of school. The Pandemic has given us the opportunity to rebuild strongly, we must ensure nothing stops girls from learning, henceforth; not menstruation, not violence. Read more
